Car Loan

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Almost impossible to get a hold of anyone with outrageous wait times.

When you select to receive a call back it rings a half of ring and when you pick up they hang up. Had a late payment so I payed 2 payments immediately when I had realized I had missed my payment but was told since I never called to say I payed for the 2 payments I was never taken off the repo list which was why the car was repod at 1 am on a Monday morning. When I called first thing that morning the lady was extremely rude as if I should know all the answers and I basically spoken to like a child being scolded and there was nothing I could do but wait it out. Over zero advice or recommendations nor explained the process, I obviously was a a huge inconvenience to her.

Was told I never updated my address that I had lived at for 3 years now so they sent the certified letters to my old address which is funny since I receive mail from Altura at the new address. As well as verbally stared my address in past conversations with reps. I updated my insurance info on an online portal and I learned through all this they had still charged me for insurance for 2 years that they tacked into the loan. My insurance has never changed since the day I bought the car?

Overall I never will finance or have any business with Altura Credit Union Ever again! 5 years of no missed payments and this is the result in my 6th year!

Lesson learned. I should have known after reading all the negative past reviews and 1.5 star ratings

Something doesn’t add up. You don’t go five years without a missed payment and then have your car repossessed for one late payment. There is way more to the story.

I need to talk to a person

Worst thing ever trying to get in contact with altura customer service over the phone. I don't know how many time I explain over email that calls from were I'm at wasn't successful. Altura Credit Union needs to have an international phone number that we members can be able to get customer service no matter where we are calling from. I already solved my problem!! after how many attempts???? but thanks anyway don't need further assistance.

Disappointed

My daughter and I walked into an Altura Credit Union in Murrieta on Saturday about an hour before closing, we filled out an application for a used car loan, and were told that we would hear back by Monday at the latest, no word from anyone on Monday or Tuesday, so we called the office on Wednesday and they told us that we did not qualify because my daughter hadnt been at her job for 18 months, thats fine if you cant give us the loan but please contact us as soon you have that information, youve waisted our time to shop somewhere else, thank you

When Altura was March Air Force CU it was a great Financial Institution. Now I see it as a Money hogging bandit. Through the years I have made many transactions with March Air Force and Visterra with ease. I have been with them for over 30 years, in 30 years I have never missed a payment or even one day late on any payment. I currently have a small car loan with them, but once its paid off, I will close my account and run fast far away from them. I don't like doing business with a company that does not care about the community they serve. I think they forget they need us more then we need them. Sincerely: Can't wait to detach myself from Altura. PS I'm not Pissed off, just Very Disappointed, to see a good Institution go greed.

This is what I've been saying for years - Its gone downhill since it was March Credit Union, which is where I opened my first bank account as a teenager. Every time it changes hands, it gets worse, and finally it's been thee worse its ever been as Altura.

Not only have I had issues with this bank, but so has the rest of my family, and we all came from March Bank so that's how we ended up with this stupid bank. It took them longer than they should have to settle a check we needed cashed from my mother who had recently passed away. And now they've created multiple headaches for me with their recent foolery, causing me to be out almost $1,000 until they've resolved the inconvenience they created, resulting in delaying an important shipment for me. And to literally add insult to injury, the supervisor made an unprofessional, out-of-place comment to me about what I should or could do with my money.

WHO the F are you to tell me what I should do with my money. Changing banks ASAP.

Failed customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Altura claims to have a signature loan you can easily qualify for. With an over qualifying report and score i decided to aplly in which theh counter offered numerous times and i accepted a reaso able offer. Once my documents were sent in they asked for they asked again for documents that were not neccessarry to showing the proof of income asked for.. Once i did give them everything' needed they decided to counter offer AGAIN!! THen in the report , claimed i never acceppted any offers . The whole company is a joke and very unprofessional. Iguess being from Riverside you tryto help a local business but they just make our reputation even worse...Even spoke with a "seinor vp" and after every sentence i said she says "mmhmm" "mmhmm" basically in ine ear and out the other. Oh well i will take my business elsewhere and for sure tell friends and family to stay away from altura.

Altura Credit Union is the Worst

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Absolute worst Credit union, they will promise you the world and without ever notifying you they can close your account, remove money from your checking as they seem fit and finally my favorite after being 2 payments behind and letting them know that you have not forgot to pay them but will pay them as soon as you can, they REPO'd my car the day before I went to pay them and are now trying to charge me a $600 tow charge. when I called to pay, they told me I had to wait till Tuesday because of procedure(its Friday) so that they can rack up another $100! which I have a buddy that runs a tow truck for a living and asked him about this kind of thing(his response, you will love this, it is an arrangement between the credit union and the tow company to rack up costs!!!) absolutely worst credit union. you have all been warned. I banked with them for the past 5 years and have personally had all this crap to deal with!

Altura Credit Union - Money Transfer Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They stole my money.. I transferred over $50.00 from my checking to my savings to cover the life insurance payment on a Saturday. Its Monday morning and when I checked my account, my savings is overdrawn by $48.00. The life insurance payment The courtesy pay fee And a transfer fee is what they charged me. I messaged them and asked for a reimbursement because I transfered my money over on the 3rd of December and the payment was taken out on the 4th and today is the 5th and I'm negative. They said that after I transferred the money from my checking to my savings that I transferred it back, however my checking shows that I transferred the money TO my savings account but never getting it back. My savings shows that I deposited the money in but it was transferred somewhere else. I told them that i didnt and wouldnt do that. But they refuse to reimburse me my money! Do NOT bank with this company, they will ALWAYS find a way to charge you, they took my money redhanded and still want to charge me for it...please, dont waste your time.

Altura Credit Union does not support the military

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am a active duty service member and in 2015, I purchased a new truck while I was stationed in San Diego, CA. I got a very good interest rate 1.9% through Altura Credit Union. It was all arranged through the dealership. Four months later I was selected for orders and me and my family was direct to transfer overseas. As per the new military rules, service members must request (through their loan company) to transfer their vehicle to an over seas assignment. When I requested this through Altura credit union I was denied. After many phone calls with the customer server I finally gave up. I put my truck in storage and transferred. After being overseas for four months I received a letter from Altura credit union instructing me that they were adding $2400 to my loan balance because I did not have full coverage on my truck. I called customer server again, spending a lot of money on calling cards, and informed them that I had my truck in storage, that the storage company provided full coverage while under there care. I also provided them with my insurance documents showing them my storage insurance, the contract from the storage company showing the coverage provided.I also let them know that I only had my truck in storage because they refused to grant me permission to ship my vehicle overseas during my military tour. The have always been very rude, they did not care in the slittiest that I forced to move over seas because I am in the military and they never removed the $2400 charge of my loan balance. I will never deal with Altura again in the future and I will do my best to inform other service members about Altura.

Altura Credit Union - Loan Review from Montebello, California

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Worst customer service. Applied for a car loan first week of November . Submitted all necessary documents. The lady said they will let us know in 2 hours if we were qualified or not. Weeks later until now dec.30th we have not heard from them. We called multiple times and said they are working on it still. Same thing happened with my co workers never called her back or letting her know about her loan application. We have good credit I don't understand until know we don't know the result of that application. This is by far the worst customer service ever.

Altura Credit Union wired my funds into the Twilight Zone

On July 11, 2011 I walked into the Rancho Mirage branch of the Altura Credit Union and requested an international wire be sent in the amount of $750 to the bank HSBC Canada. Today it is July 27, 2011 and the funds have not been received into the account of the recipient designated. It cost $40 to send the wire, and my account has also since been debited an additional $35 to trace the wire, for a total cost of $75.00 so far. The first five phone calls to the Altura Credit Union EFT department (the department that handles the wires) I was promised a return phone call, and got no such return phone call. Then when contacting the original branch where the wire was sent from, I did get a return phone call from Gwendolyn D'Fonseca. She was the only one who attempted to follow up with me on what happened to my money and bothered to call me back. But "Raquel" in the EFT department, who I was told was initiating the trace, never contacted me. "Vinnie" at the Riverside branch called me back yesterday to tell me that this trace process could take an additional month. A month?? It's already been over two weeks since I sent the wire. He then gave me the all to familiar Altura Credit union mantra "there's nothing else we can do for you." On each of the preceding phone calls that I have made to Altura Credit Union since July 13, 2011, each representative said the same thing, "we're sorry but there's nothing else we can do." I'd like to see that written on more of their sales materials...it'd be more honest. Of course when I initiated this wire no one told me that it could take 30 days even, and no one told me that if the wire doesn't get there "there is nothing we can do." Also, I just found out this morning that they outsource these wires, that is, Altura Credit Union doesn't actually send the wires. They use a third-party company to actually facilitate the wire process, another little detail I was never told about. I almost never even use this account, as I bank primarily with Wells Fargo and E*TRADE. At this point in time I am grateful for that. Needless to say, if someone from Altura Credit Union doesn't find my money, and/or assure me that if my funds are not or will not be deposited into the intended account soon they will replace those funds, then I will absolutely sue them. Meanwhile, I am going to blog daily about this experience. I am very upset about this, as I can't afford to have $750 go missing. I have never been told so many times by so many people "sorry, there's nothing more we can do." If you are considering banking with Altura Credit Union, you'd better pray you never need them to assist you with any issues, like finding your money!

After being contacted by Robert Whitton, Manager of the EFT department at Altura Credit Union, I feel much better. He was away on vacation when this happened.

Finally, some great customer service. He followed up on the wired funds, verified the current location of the funds (still not deposited to the intended account, but that isn't Altura's fault).

He actually apologized that I hadn't been informed of the potential delays regarding an international wire, and offered to refund my fees associated with this transaction. Now, I can finally stop worrying about it.
